    Default R.I.P Deeside

Well its finally happened, Deeside is now a no go area.

Today started out to be a very large meet (20+ cars) until the man in Black came along and told us he's had complaints from the Land Owners over the surface damage thats been caused, whether that was true or not we have been told to move on.
I've been running here for 2 years now and as the bash site has grown you could see that the end was nearing...

We shall miss our bash spot a lot thats for sure..

What we now need to do is continue to source the new bash site at the farm in Boughton and try to get the club up and running proper this time...

Post your best Pics or Tales from our Meets..

    Twas fun while it lasted.

I can see why they shut it down, there used to be grass there - you know when its bad when guys turn up with sand paddles...

Still with each door that closes more open in its place.

Sorry to hear your favourite spot is no longer. Fingers crossed you find another equally as good (or better) in double quick time.

Have you considered going to chat with the fellow? Asking him what he requires and see if there is a compromise that can be had?

nnnnoooooo, what a dam shame, I think we should at least talk with the land owners and see if we come to some kind of arrangement.

Its on a Industrail Estate surrounded by factories, most are shut when we run on a Sunday, the Copper said the Estate Management Company have said the area is being ruined and that its a show case area for when Companies look at the area for future openings.
We did start to source another site on some farm land but he had some bad luck so we stopped asking, but now we need to get things moving forward again..

There is a couple of square miles of field behind Deeside thats owned by the M.O.D .I'm going to ring them tomorrow and see if we can use it.
The Heli guys asked permission and they said yes but next door was a flying school so they couldn't for health and safety issues. We are surface based as opposed to air so it might be good to go.

I THINK you might find it is managed by Landmarc, who manage the MOD estate, you may be able to use the land, if the bylaws allow "right to roam" but generally if it is more than 5 people, it becomes an organised event and you will need to buy a license to use the land and that involves a shed load of red tape, risk assesments, insurance blah blah blah. We're going through that sheet now, just a heads up for you guys

Good idea but the thing is they might start asking for Risk Assessments and to make sure we have insurance. Still worth a try though, hope it goes well. Funny thing is I was looking at the old RAF Sealand place over the road from that on google maps and they have a nice open field there.

I've never been there but over the last year or so I have noticed a deterioration in the surface just by looking at the pics and vids

Maybe find at least 2 spots if you can, then juggle between one and the other instead of the same place all the time.

Hope you find a new spot soon, good luck
