Wink Custom painting the HemiStorm Penta Losi 5ive

In my spare time this week I will paint up a HemiStorm Penta shell. I love painting, and not having an airbrush setup makes it even more challenging. As always I will use Tamiya rattlecans and regular 3M masking tape for the job. I can't wait to see what respected painters like Hiks will come up with in time, in the meantime I'll get to work to paint one up exactly like I like it: loud coloured and visible!

To start off a few pictures of the individual parts, which come precut and predrilled, with a clear overspray film.

Tiny pic-heavy update: tons of masking tape, what feels like miles of cutting, 4 days in it so far. Tomorrow I'll finally be able to peel and paint. For those with a good eye, I think you can already kind of tell what she'll look like when done.

Is that a personal preference using masking tape over liquid mask?

Yeah, kind of "stick-with-what-you-know" idea behind it, rattlecans and tape work fine for me.

I'll post some mounted pics later, for now I'll update this thread with some pictures of the painting process. You need a scalpel, a half-broken ruler, pen and a ton of rattlecans. Here are the pics, I tried to shoot them as step by step as possible.

I agree, it's the best one I've seen of your shells. It's really gonna look sweet!!

All my paintjobs start this awesome in my head(actually, not really this good), then I start masking and about 5 minutes in, I'm like **** it, 3 simple colours and I'm done!

    Pink chairs FTMFW indeed!

Thank you for all the nice words. I'm really looking forward to RCX! Here are pics of the shell mounted, finally showing the Penta the way I want it.
