Default Throttle/brake linkage mod - my take on the cabbie linkage

My throttle linkage mod which i saw done first by Cabbie on BFUK

Please look at all pictures first to see how the linkages fit and cut them longer then needed so that you can adjust them and then only cut once your happy with final length and check operation at each step.

    total cost around 10

    parts

    fastrax throttle linkage set 5.09
    http://www.modelsport.co.uk/fastrax-...products/30633

bike spoke/piano wire/ stainless welding rod about 1m will be more than ample

    Parts

Parts we need along with 1 extra collet from original linkage or bought with the fastrax kit

new servo horn fitted with the single slider removed and the top one of the 2 turned around(not in this picture but shown later)

new independent brake linkage run in using fuel tube instead of spring to the lower slider on the new servo arm

new independent throttle linkage with a 90' bend at one end and a locking collet to stop the small throttle arm thing coming off the linkage and run through the top slider on the new servo arm

new servo arm arrangement with new linkages, spring added on end of the throttle linkage to ensure throttle closes when applying the brake

linkages shown in neutral position with cage and windows fitted

Linkages shown in full brake with cage and windows fitted

linkages shown in full throttle with cage and windows fitted

taking the time to set up both the linkages is well worth it over using the stock setup as allows fine adjustments to be done on one with out changing the other, also i am running full force windows with the windows held at the highest point by cables ties around the from window lower mounts and the cage light pod mounts and this keeps the window clear of the linkage and if you cut the linkage to suit after adjusting it you should find it will clear the body as well.

This is just the kit I bought which came with everything but your linked kit will do the same if you have all the collets and suitable servo horn but posted up as cabbie has deleted his photos of how to do this mod

I did my mod even cheaper
Only thing i needed was this kit.

This is how i did it.

    Pictures.

I changed back that stock servo horn, that alloy one was not good.
That rod need to be cut a bit, and i used epoxy to gluing it to the ball end.
That rod can not be too long, because it wont be good for the servo, it will start twisting against the servo, so it need to be right lenght.
