    ^^This.

I'd be all over one of these if it was possible to buy it with an 18t instead of paying extra for one.

The reason these are offered with a 17 is because its the most popular gear and we needed to test the market popularity first before deciding which gear options to go with first, we've had a great response so far.
This is why we are offering a discount on the option gears so that those buying the units now now will save some money when other gear options become available.
We will make a final decision on if they will come with a 17t when option gears become available.

19T pinion was the most popular in your poll?

Forums account for an extremely low percentage of the RC customer base.
The majority of people prefer stock gearing so to make a product available packaged and ready to install without a customer having to purchase multiple parts is better.

We compared our poll with our sales numbers of option gears, they contradict each other so we opted to make both gears available at the same time. .

nothing to show tbh, they are hand made items from nosmonkey

I read a couple people are running 6mm braces, how come such overkill?
i included the rought cost of fitting a different pinion gear as i don't use a 17t, and haven't for some time now

6mm because the stock ones are too soft for my jumping habbits, these were only 35 iirc, not bad for titanium, hand cut and polished imo

    Losi pinion mod'.
Let the pictures tell all. What do you think?

Losi 19t pinion gear with spacers

Losi and Baja pinion gear width.

As I dont want to keep removing the bearings the thinner spacers goes between them.

Second spacers goes under the pinion gear.

Mesh is smooth but think this mod' would be better for metal spur gears?

Looks Good John, It looks as if the retention washer could be on backwards. The concave side should face the pinion gear.
How does the bell spin with it all tightened up?

    Cheers,

Thanks Clayton, just fitted the gear with both spacers and it spins very freely. Good mod'

I guess it would safe to leave it in there regardless of what gears are used?

Spacers are always good.. We use to make a spacer for the stock Baja carriers, spacers keep the bearings from having side load when gears are shimmed and tightened down.
In the future we may be including bearing spacers in the carriers as an added feature.

There's something I want to mention to those who plan to re-colour the EAC clutch carrier or any aluminium carrier

When a product is anodized, material is removed then added back on in a crystal type form.. An anodizing company can time the process to add or subtract a small amount of material making tolerances tighter, looser or as they were.

When reworking a part they need to strip off the old color and anodizing and redo the part.. This can change tolerances..

If this is something people are planning on doing be certain to ask the anodizer to mask the bearing seats so that the tolerances are unaffected otherwise it can cause the bearings to fit incorrectly.

Update after running the car today I'm very pleased with the Vertigo performance EAC. My only concern until today was the weight of the clutch bell and pinion gear. Aprox' weights VP= 164G . Stock=123G.
Blew the centre out of an Elcon wheel today on spool-up alone.
    EAC performed flawlessly.

    Rev,

The whole unit weighs more however the stock unit is designed with 2.2hp in mind, the EAC unit is designed with 8hp in mind..
I'm glad to hear you had a good day, we are getting zero feedback on these units even though we've sold a fairly large number of them to date so it's nice to finally get some..

    Cheers,

Can see it handling the new wave of large HP engines no problem. I know of a few people who have bought the EAC unit, maybe yet to fit them or holding out for the taller gears? I've had a few PMs asking what I thought. Now that I've used it I'm very pleased.

    Lock n Load

Edit: Need the 19t pinion asap. I was over taken by an OBR 30.5 .Can't be having that.lol

Just got round to fitting the 18t and 19t pinion gears. Is the mesh supposed to be that tight? I cant even turn the gears. I'll post a picture so you can see what I mean...

    18t pinion 56 spur.

New EAC bell fits the Lauterbacher & Elcon clutch better. Having the shallow domed top gives more clerance towards the clutch front ( where the four bolts pertrude) no more catching. The clutch adjustment hole on the side of the bell has been increased for better alignment. The bells wall are slightly taller making sure the intire shoe is covered. The hole through the centre has been slightly increased reducing weight.

    EAC bell : 100625

    EAC bell : 100625B

This is so much better. Thank you Vertigo.

    Edit: Better venting
