    Default Proline Desert Rat Changed??

    Has anyone bought & used a Proline Desert Rat lately? I started using a new one couple weeks back, has been used twice and already the entire shell has disintegrated. Both pods snapped off, the side mounting points for the main shell have shattered and the whole thing is full of cracks. Normally get a good 12 months out of these

    I brought a new one around Christmas time, cut it all out and its waiting to be painted. (need to come up with a design)

    but its feels the same as my old one, witch has lasted well.

    Well I've spoken to Proline and they are looking in to it. Here's a few pics to show what it looks like after 2 hours max running. It was sprayed with Tamiya paints so it's not like I stuck the cheap crap on it.

    Holy crap!! There is definitely something not right with that, almost looks like it has been exposed to extreme cold at some point and become very brittle??

    Where did you purchase it from?

    I do know that the material is not UV stabilised. If there were any chance it may have been exposed to sunlight for some time (shop window) or perhaps under a fluorescent light, this may have weakened the material.

    Pics of the paint cans also? I'm wondering if there was any chance of a reaction from the paint.

    It was bought from Wheelspin Neil, not sure how they store their stuff but a guess, in a warehouse.

    Proline have offered to replace the shell but want evidence of this one being cut up & rendered unusable. I think it's pretty much unusable as it is

    Here's the paint used ;

    I've got the same body and used the same paint as you have. To be fair its not as bad as that but it has already started to split around the fuel cap and a bit has snapped off after 6 outings. But its not as bad as the one you have there. I would see if you can get another one as it should't really be as bad as that.

    I don't think I will be buying another one of these as just too expensive by the time I sprayed it and I am sick of replacing the body and don't really have that kind of money to keep replacing it

    This ones going to be gaffa or gorilla taped to death as it breaks
