so the OBR reeds aren't quite cuttin it eh?

is there that much of a noticeable difference between the OBR's and Pro mx's?

I've heard a few good things about the Pro mx's,is there much of a difference in price range?

where can a dude check em out?

    Default G340 reed

Yeh, my pro mx is quicker !
In fact coalminers 27.2 was to

    Wasn't impressed at all

However...... Pete had added the +2 crank himself to make it a 34 reed

We had a discussion on it at the weekend as he said it was a quick easy job
( it clearly hadn't worked ) it wasn't quick at all

When Scotty offers the +2 he has the engine back, fits it and re ports it

    I'd go with Scottys way

If the one Pete has now bought is an actual OBR 34 reed then it would be interesting to see
And to hear petes comments on the difference

I'm wanting to know if a OBR 34 is stacked or has it been machined to take the +2

I'm pretty sure OBR machines them to accept the +2,I could be wrong though

I remember you saying you weren't a big fan of OBRs engines which is all cool and all but can there really be that much of a performance difference between them both, there's only so many things that can be done differently on these small blocks

were all of you dudes runnin the exact same gears on all these engines you've mentioned including the 27.2,just curious

I think it's about time I give one of these Pro mx's a try, what better way to see,I've wanted to try one out for a bit anyways, change can be good

my brother and I are currently running 11+ OBR's at the moment "lost count" and we've yet to have any issues with them, all strong runners,it'll be interesting to compare them once I've got one of these Pro mxs to compare, should be fun

where can the Pro mx's be purchased and are the 34 reeds available at the moment?

Got to say Lee is right in some ways ( suspected leak which I guessed right, set up I completely cocked up rushing it, made alot of sense what was discussed, that motors now converted back to a G32 reed with a few differences AND found a crank seal leak, now sorted starts second crack of the pull, stuck it in my Baja 5T now

You coming tomoz? Still breaking it in and this is a one off special G34Reed (abit more work done to it but Mr O'Neil himself) but bring it over as I know U will want a butchers at it lee.

This is one debate I can end swiftly, I like S/F as well as OBR motors, both have there good points as well as bad ones, FM G32's are evenly matched and I've had the OBR one and seen more than S/F G32 pro mx go, both impressive

    Default G340 reed

I deffo new that adding the +2 yourself Pete was a mistake, you'd of altered the timing too

Although it ran well, it was no advert for OBR

I'm sure now you've reverted it back to a 32 it will be quicker mate

    30, 32, 34 etc don't always equal more speed
Speed and power are two very seperate things
A 34 would fly up the hill in a Baja that weighs 20kg for instance, that's power and tourqe

But look at coalminers little 27.2, rocket ship in that shorty but not in a 20kg Baja

I know we all rave about the g320, weather it be stock, pro mx, full mod or a reed
But I think the biggest factor of them is the cost, there bloody cheap to start with

I've got one and I love it but still love the 30.5 and I'd still put it against anything else for a play

Keep us posted on the new reed mate, be keen to hear how it goes

If weathers good I might even come over, I'd like to see it side by side against the yellow peril lol
