Default Liquid Mask - Fist attempt

Started masking cutting out a new MCD V4 body shell using liquid mask for the first time. Brilliant stuff. No final design in mind just having a go.
    RCS Graphic worx liquid mask
    Fineline masking tape.

Thanks chaps. If yor thinking of painting a shell difinetly use liquid mask. If you dont like what you've done just paint over it again. Working out a design first would prevent this but using a masking film speeds everything up at this stage.

Even had a go at a logo

Few more stripes ( might of over cooked it) starting to look like a circuit board.

    Thanks,
Decided to post this as it shows a mistake and how i corrected it. painted/ remasked some of the front lines and altered the postion of rear lines.

Thats all the lines done now to think about the colours ? Painting is the part i'm not looking forward to as much ...

Paint arrived so i thought i'd get stuck in .

Started with the pinstripes. Had to stop toward the roof because the mask was pulled off when i stuck some masking tape on the inside .... lol

So had a go at the logo.

Here you can see where i remasked one of the pinstripes.

No major mistakes but it's getting trickier.

    Update:

Got the red and white back to front ...

More masking to separate the colours in the design.

Have to remask the area around the window .
Tend to put the paint on thick so have to recut the boarder between previous colour and masking film. The paint makes a new film on top of the masking film.

    Thanks m8,

Done what i could today before running out of gold paint. The masking film does not bleed at all. The lines edges were ruined while removing the film to the colour next to it.

Not sure how you get good strong colours without having to build it up ?

Thanks m8, I wouldn't of attempted this with just masking tape although I know you can get just as good a result using tape ... the RCS cost 25 and would probably do 5 large scale shells . >>>http://www.rcsgraphicworx.co.uk/shop.php?more=47 <<<.

Would like to use an air brush next time to keep things tidier.

Finished ... bit of clean up around the windows and its good to go. No more close up photos .lol. but if you take your time, plan your design and colours, liquid masking is better than lots of masking tape.imo
Really enjoyed having a bash, learnt lots and cant wait to paint another shell.
