    Default Best aftermarket clutch !!!!

I'm after some advice from people with experience of the upgrade clutches on the market. The bzm clutch is out of the budget so what's the best pound for bang clutch there is. The engine is a bzm 28.5 tt. And running stock gearing and a bzm side pipe.

Lauterbacher or Elcon adjustable clutches. Although they're essentially the same, the Elcon is built in reverse to the laut' which places the shoes completely inside the clutch bell. Laut's need a shim here or there.

What's the rough life expectancy of the shoes. I know it depend on your driving style but is there any longer life between the two ?

Laut' shoes on stock gearing in a Baja will last at least 2 years, as with the Elcon. Just fitted the Laut' to my 5ive, stock gearing ,32 pro MX. Had a look the other day and the surface of the shoes have a few small pits but holding up better than I thought and will last this summer and winter series.

Rememeber Team uber going to Thunderfields? Gareth went through one of those Torrex jobs in a day !! before the ally shoes were made. Don't like the look of the new MIP multishoe either.( they've not been into large scale long enough) Still waiting to hear reliable/good feedback from TRs new Snapper clutch??

    Default Best aftermarket clutch !!!!

Ive got the Lauterbacher clone with gen pads, thanks to Rev and Andy.
But I'm finding them to be far far better than stock, run it on my Baja on 18-19 and 20 pinion and my bajas 16.5KG depending if I fit a SC shell then this adds another 800g so not light weight.
Since fitting Revs gen pads I've notice minimal wear and have 13.9hrs on these gen pads so quite a few tanks so far plus was used by Rev.

    Thumbs up

10/10 on the turex clutch. The bzm powered Baja absolutely loved it.

Scotty installed it on the last service the bzm had. IMO I can't see the difference but scotty insisted it got put on. The clutch bites like a dream.

That isn't the 3 shoe tourex I mentioned earlier. New 4 shoe V2 looks better.

Yeh I spoke with others who race these in the losi trucks. So I thought I'll give it a go in the Baja. So far so good.

The clutch is still going strong I'm glad to report. I'll crack it open once the next round of indoor is over.
