swapped the gears over and the mesh is perfect on mine mate ,
heres a pic, bear in mind this is a heavily modified black magic 55t spur, but started life as exactley the same as the one you have ,
but 19/55 vertigo pinion with black magic spur is silky smooth,
you might have an alignment issue ,

Another wicked build thread. Thats awesome

After all that work I would have fcuked off that plastic roll cage and put some more alloy on there and turned it in to one one of these..

Thanks for testing it for me. I think you are right! I'll take it apart and mount the drivetrain and engine together first and then mount it on the chassis. Thanks again!

Oh yeah! But it does come with a speed limiter built in! . It would be cool though!

Trimmed the nose down. Sits lower now and has a better cage front flow in my opinion.

I really like the looks of the buggy.

I can't explain why the mesh would be tight other than something elses is out.
If the transmission is as little as 3/4 mm too far back it can bugger the mesh.
Maybe the holes in the chassis are off just enough to make a difference?

Traced it down to misalignment by way of order in which I tighten down the transmission and engine to the chassis. Was off by almost 1mm. All good now! I have already ordered the 18t. May try that to see if I like it better as a 18/55 combo than the 19/55. We'll see!

    Good you got it sorted...

    An 18 isn't compatible with a 55
    17/57
    18/56
    19/55
    20/54

CNC milled carbon fibre/Aluminium baja/losi parts stock, modified and custom.

    That's a very old Chart.
Robinson was making Hostile and TR pinions, they (RRP, Hostile and TR) decided to market special modified pitch gears that created some grief for our customers as well as others because they would unwittingly buy incorrect gears.

Got myself some 2mm thick ABS plastic to try and make a body. Suggestions / critics on the design?

Hi mate. Design looks good. You rolling the arches? Also the side window looks a little big. Why not take a third of that and make some sort of side intake Esk looking bulge like on s Lamborghini could put a bit of stainless mesh in it too

looks good mate, but i wouls add an extra angle into the arches if your having em angled ,
and also nip the corners of the arches off at an angle as well

Thank you guys for your feedback.

Accidentally I got dragged into another build and put this one on hold. I'll start a new thread since it's about a different model. Here is the link to the new thread.

I would get the chassis rails an chassis tig welded to add massive strength and make it neat... That or tiger seal it together.

Looks great though and I love the engine.

Yes. Along with the welding, get rid of those wings make it out alloy, put a spare wheel on the side, cut a hole in top and stick an action man in it. Then go on the race track and run over everyone

    Awesome build dude
