    upen daten timen ,
just a quick update cos not had much time in the shop just lately,
rebuilt the big bores with 30wt in the fronts and 45wt in the rears, that's the same as what I was running in the other shocks ,
then stripped the battery box / batt box plate down cos need to make a carbon plate to replace the alloy one,
will also mod the battery box a tad as well,
    couple o pics below,
and as always, thanks for lookin ,

bit more of an update ,
been struggling for time in the workshop the last week or so, progress is a tad slow ,
but, stripped the old blue off the big bore springs, they will now get a quick sand blast and redone in the new blue,
then rough cut some 4mm carbon fibre for the new battery box plate and servo mounts,
roughened up one side of each of the four smaller bits o carbon,
then bonded together so I have two 8mm pieces for the servo mounts,
left em clamped up overnight and will see if they stuck proper tomorrow ,
plus the bonding stuff stinks and was making me high so came in ,
some pics below, and as always, thanks for lookin ,

next bit of an update ,
bonding the carbon together worked bob spot on ,
so I now have one large 4mm piece and two smaller 8mm pieces,
masked the carbon up again, then double sided taped the original alloy ones on the top,
making sure I marked both the to side and under side the right ways ,
some holes will be counter sunk and the larger plate was stuck on upside down so could use as a drill guide without the countersinks affecting the drilling,
all are used as guides but the others are 6mm thick , I know what I mean ,
then drilled the first set of holes ,
I can now just bolt the alloy plates to the carbon whenever needs be for more marking out ,
a few pics below, and as always, thanks for lookin ,

oh, and yes the maskings been removed from one side, but is marked top or bottom on the other side as well ,
also the holes will get a dab with a counter bit to tidy up the edges as well ,

update, nowt massive cos had the flu type doodad ,
so countersunk the holes that needed countersinking and then tapped some m3 and m4 holes in various parts,
bolted together just to check all the holes are in the right place an all , they are ,
tapping carbon is not easy, taps don't last very long at all till there blunt ,
also i'm using one piece of alloy which I used on the full alloy plate and mounts, its just easier having the alloy bit to fasten two of the parts together,
still needs shaping and holes for servos cutting out, but at least I know it all bolts together now ,
few pics below, and as always, thanks for lookin ,

update again, been almost a week,
had the potato flu and it knocked me for six for a while ,
oh, and mr twatty above, I did ring you back gary mate, you didn't answer as you were probably chucking stuff out the window at passers by ,
    right , the update,
finished shaping and cutting out the servo holes in the carbon mounts and battery box plate,
then test fitted to make sure everything lined up and all the holes were bob on,
also the two stubs underneath the steering servo mount, needed to check they slotted into the holes and that,
all was well so can now say that parts finished ready for when I get the rail painted,
might have to remake a rear carbon mount for the rear of the rail frame as the old ones a tad manky, but that's an easy part to make ,
a few pics below, and as always, thanks for lookin ,

so finally got a couple of hours in the workshop today ,
its a tad cold though and almost froze my nads off ,
anyways, made a new rear bracket mount out of carbon today,
its just the one that ties in the rear section of the rail frame and the top of the rear bulkhead,
small amount of mill work on it but mostly dremel work by hand ,
test fitted with old alloy parts that came off just to make sure all lined up,
alloy bits are same thickness as the BoneHead-RC carbon parts that are now being fitted so all spacings right
a few pics below, first one old v new, old one was about bob tucked ,
as always, thanks for lookin ,
