You are very welcome Paul. Glad they went to a good build. I started my rail today after 8 months in the shed and she started first time. I was thinking of selling it my son is not that interested. All the bits on my rail are top quality I am in two minds whether to strip it down sell the frame and build another Baja or take the engine out and servos etc and build a Losi. If I build a baja any tips on which frame chassis combo would be best. You are the expert with all your builds.
    All the best

ah martin, my advice would be to keep the rail mate
but if you do build a baja then i would use either the i-rc chassis and top/bottom plates etc, or the kraken chassis with i-rc plates,
but i would say keep the rail

yeh dre and si,my thoughts were a two tone of the darker metallic green and the apple pearl one,
gonna have a think about it and might be green after winter ,
gonna do a few other mods as well

weeeeeell, sort of made a decision today and started stripping the rail down a bit ,
almost decided on painting it green now as well, unless I change my mind again ,
the rail needed to come apart to do the mods I want to do anyways, so thought i'd make a start,
the nice blue coloured gear box case will be changed out for a silver one I have , so the blue one will be stored, it would be a shame to strip the anno on that,
it will take a little while to do this, but a few changes needed to be made , or do a few things a little different , or better in my view anyways
    couple of pics below,
and as always, thanks for lookin ,

well I've had two mates I trust tell me I should leave the rail blue today,
so looks like its gonna stay blue , I think ,
but I've found a bluer blue paint that looks so much better than whats on it now,
so might be getting redone anyways,
the paint on it at the moment was left over paint from my brothers Honda bike, none left to touch up with and its a tad chipped and scraped,
was also cheapo paint as well , so will repaint with better quality paint and clear coat ,

so today I finally got a bit of time in the workshop , other stuff got in the way, as usual ,
so I started making an insulator spacer from the tufnol dean sent me,
cut a 6mm thick block then bored the centre hole, then drilled the two mounting holes and the pulse hole,
all holes in the right place, just needs trimming down and the outer shape doing now so the throttle misses the tufnol an that,
gonna do it oval same as the reed block , this should stop most of the heat soak I was getting when at full running temps,
or at least limit the heat a bit
    couple of pics below,
and as always, thanks for looking ,

lol dre, yeh it does look a tad wood like ,
but nah, its tufnol, some sort of compressed/laminated weird stuff that's good at absorbing heat,
    horrible to work with though,
really fine dust so masks needed, and stinks when its cut

today I finished shaping the tufnol insulator doodad ,
shaped it the same as a gasket, so it just has a small diameter that extends past the reed block,
then dug out a straight v stack and a tgn angled short stack filter,
gave the v stack a bit of a polish as well ,
then just loosely assembled to make sure I was right with everything,
all good so top banana ,
just needs a new gasket for reed block to crank case making and the petals putting back on and can refit to the 34,
then test run it and make sure all is well ,
a few pics below, and as always,
    thanks for lookin ,

today I loosely refitted the 34 and the pipe and test fired it to make sure it ran ok with the tufnol insulator spacer on,
it ran well, but had slight weepage in one place,
removed and lapped the tufnol on a flat block an some wet n dry and its flatter than than a Yorkshiremans cap now , no leaks ,
ran it up to full temperature, billet case got hot but the carb stayed cold , so hopefully that will be an end to the empty bulb and crappy starting when hot ,
then removed the engine again and started to take battery box out for some mods,
noticed one of the front y plate mounts had come away from the frame, must have happened when it had a tumble last time the rail was out,
so that will need to be welded back in place, then strip and repaint and some carbon parts will be added ,
so a few pics below, and as always, thanks for lookin ,

stripped everything off the rail today, so defo a repaint gonna happen now ,
so will blast back to bare steel, then reweld the y plate mount back on and get ready for a few updates to the rail,
not even bought the paint yet, but found the colour ,
    couple of pics below,
and as always thanks for lookin ,

    quick update ,
been stripping the paint off the rail, back to bare metal and redo it,
so 95% of the paints off now, it was stuck on there better than I thought it was an all ,
couple of pics below, and as always, thanks for lookin ,
