Default Vertigo eac tight gear mesh

Just spent the last 8 hours taking it on and off , moving the engine and gearbox in every possible direction . Took off the chassis plate and its flat and true , checked the gearbox shaft and its as straight as an arrow .
Im using hostile spurs and the mesh is really tight over about a third of the spur revolution .
If i use a stock spur its not as bad , im at a loss really and had to give up before i got the hammer out lol.

The spur looks warped when on due to the tightness but ive checked it off and it looks fine .
    Any help would be great

How tight a mess is it on that 3rd plastic would bed in pretty quick if it's only binding a tad.

Yes just give it some beans. Its only a bit of plastic and will soon wear in. Its because everything is new thats all and it will go loose after a bit of run.

The hostile gear aren't true. Go easy at first otherwise you can snap the teeth off.

    Hi Dan,

The EAC is a one piece carrier, as such it will exaggerate any other issues with your Baja that would normally go unnoticed with multiple piece carriers. A Bent chassis plate is a big one that usually goes unnoticed until the EAC is installed, it doesn't take much of a tweak. We had a customer have that issue and swore his plate was true.. He installed a new plate and the problem went away. Once the EAC is installed however it does act as a brace of sorts which helps keep the back end of the Baja true.

Since the tight issue isn't the whole circumference of the gear it is no doubt the Hostile spur gear causing the problem.
Enlarging the 12mm hole in the back of the gear often takes care of the issue, the gears aren't exactly round and that hole being not large enough makes the problem worse.
Once the hole is enlarged the gear is allowed to free float on the Spur gear shock bushings.

If you have any future issues, please contact us directly as well as post in the forum, we can address the problem pretty quick as I most always have email handy to me.

    Cheers,
