Default How to put Hostile MX tyres on..

well as i was sorting my wheels out i thought about doing this how to thread..
as we all know the hostile mx are a nightmare to put on hence the the name
so i hope this pic thread helps some guy's out.
get all your stuff to hand

if you have normal foams place on the wheel first and tape up the foam.(this stops the tyre from ballooning)then remove from wheel follow the thread below..
as you can see im using hostile zero growth foams.
now fold foam in half and put inside the tyre(pic 3)

a bit of fiddling is involved just to get the foam sitting nice in the tyre
like in the next two pics..

once at this stage its time for the wheel.line up the grooves with the screw holes
and just slide the wheel on.

once the tyre is on flip the wheel over and just peel the wall of the tyre over the wheel and then push down more.

now the time bit. go round all the tyre front and back and make sure you get all the bits of rubber into the groves of the wheels.if done right they will not pop back out.

nice but I done it a different way, first I put the tyres in hot water to soften them up a bit then turned them inside out, put the foam on the wheel then screw down the outside beadlock making sure everything is aligned properly of coarse then turn the tyre back the way its supposed to be and put on the inside beadlock. job done

I'll slap some sticky stuff on this and move it to the Wheels section, always someone moaning about how to get them on

a tip at this stage , i found it worked well

is to use a thin oil such as wd40 on the rim(arrowed) it just helps it to slip over

I do mine exactly as described except, I spray the tyre with a silicon based spray which allows the tyre to slip on fairly easily. When all finished and the excess is wiped off, the tyres are nice and shiny too 😜😜
