bit of an update as well,
so, I made some exhaust manifold adapters up , they need finishing off, but are far enough along to fit the manifolds proper so I could line the pipes up,
bit of tweeking of the pipes and there in there ,
the front one still needs the mounting bracket bending downwards and a bracket making to fasten it in place, and the rear pipe needs a slight bend in the bracket to drop that down a shade, but they will fit,
also rough hacked a section from the rear of the bonnet cage section for clearance, the bonnet itself will need minor mods, or a trim and should fit fine,
also removed the tr air boxes and fitted a pair of velocity stacks, space is getting very tight and I think i'm going to have to use two of the very short uni filters to clear the pipes,
or make a custom air box type doodad,
built up the rear shock tower / tank plate area as well so that I can finish fit the pipes and make sure all is well,
    done loads really ,
    anyways, a few pics below,
    and as always,
    thanks for lookin ,

been working on a mounting bracket for the front pipe,
its a tad chunky at the moment but slowly shaving it down, done by hand with drill bits and the belt sander ,
its fastened to the top of the battery tray doodad, but that has a 4mm alloy plate on top and is held down with 15 screws, so should be strong as bull ,
the original bracket has been re saped and bent downwards as well,
this is the only way I could do it cos the pipes are stainless and I cant weld stainless, so had to work with what I had
also shaped the rough cuts on the bonnet section so there nice n neat,
need to add back some of the support in the cage at the front, most of that will bolt straight back in though,
and the bonnet needs to go back a bit more as well, some of that will happen with the bracket being reduced a bit, but the rest will be done with a relief cut in the bonnet to re shape around the pipe,
    anyways,
    a few pics below,

finished the exhaust mount bracket off today,
thought the pipes were finished now , but then remembered I didn't machine the manifold adapters out yet ,
so that's gonna be the next job, then after that the modded coil reposition mount doodad,
managed to get all the bracing back in the cage as well except for the triangle strengthener that goes from the bonnet section to the roof,
theres a pipe in the way of that now ,
I might try and come up with something for that, but the cage is really stiff and way over engineered anyway, so may be fine without that brace
and yeh there is a screw missing from the bonnet section, it was on the bench and it went walkabout somewhere, couldn't find it anywhere ,
bonnet panel itself only needs to go back 4mm now as well, so a trim here and there and that will fit,
just needs 6mm or so clearance between that panel and the pipe I think,

    quick update,
been working on a new coil mount to raise the coils a tad for clearance,
so re made the mount and just moved em upwards a little,
    clears everything , I think ,
plug wires are fairly close to the pipe, but only as close as when the twin was in the baja,
need some fresh heat sleeve stuff and some minor mods to get as much distance as possible between pipe and leads,
plenty or room for pull start as well but needs a short extension on it ,
    couple of pics below,
    and as always,
    thanks for lookin

    update time again,
or in this case a correction update ,
I back tracked on the new coil plate that raised the coils up,
had a think about it and wasn't happy about how close the plug wires were to the pipe, and a few other things as well,
so re fitted the old coil mount and decided to remake the brace from the front end to the chassis instead,
so this is now shaped around the left side coil instead,
had to re shape the underside of the brace as well to allow clearance for everything and also to add the strength back,
all that needs doing now is the final shaping and a relief recess doodad cutting to allow the front centre drive shaft to clear,
the stock brace had the same sort of thing done to as space is very tight,
but all in all when finished my brace will be stronger than the stock one ,
    few pics below,
and as always, thanks for lookin ,
