    Can you get one of the more modern hand remotes with the wheel on the side to make this easier to drive use to belong to my son when he was at school he's 32 now.just got it out the loft stil works aft t all theses years

    Shouldn't be a problem matey just need to change the receiver over in the rc etc worth going 2.4ghz nowadays

    nice rc haven't seen a mech speed controller for a while ,is it a Tamiya ff02?

    Not sure like I said been in the loft for years will have to see about getting new remote for it

    I think that transmitter and receiver works fine, although they are old.
    I had an older futaba trasmitter that works without problem.

    Maybe the servo can have more problem.

    You have a complete vintage car.. I think you should only restore it without change anything. (complete tamiya car increase always their value)

    Was thinking this but it would be easier to drive with new controller with the side wheel

    Ok, I didn't understand.
    I thought that you would change also the mechanical speed controller.

    True would be better with a electric speed controller instead of a msc which is on or off near enough.
    would be worth some money to a collector

    Update all done I've kept all the original parts
    Can I get a better battery now things have moved on

    Poor vintage car.

    Now you have to buy a lipo battery instead of the old NiCd

    I know it's a Tamiya I brought it for my son 17-18 years ago the batter says 1998-200
