    Default New Build

New build, with uber rc carbon kit. Struggling to get engine to fit as its touching the petrol tank. Engine is a Trevor Simpson with an Oddified head, anyone know how to get around this???

Very nice!! could you not reshape tank brace, or file crankcase or a bit of both to fit

i agree with laz mate , nice ,
as for the tank rubbing, maybe elongate the holes for the tank mounts slightly,
the three where the rubber anti vibration grommets go through,
that may give you an extra couple of mm , its still gonna be close and may still rub but just put a circle of tape or servo tap over where it does rub and then replace that when it wears through the tape

It's been rubbing before by the looks of it, the Reed does come close though but I didn't think it actually rest on the tank.

Safest bet is to move the tank over like Spents suggested

What just to drill out new holes for the tank and move it up slightly because the engine isn't lining up with holes in chassis because the reed it just catching the tank slightly?

nah mate, by the looks of it all you need to do is move the tank to the right 2 or 3mm and then it will clear,
so my suggestion would be to make the tank mount holes (in the tank) slightly oval,
but sideways so the tank can move that few mm to the right,
I seen you also have allen bolts through the grommets on the tank as well, they may be just making things too tight, the stock plastic pin things might allow a bit more movement without even modifying the holes,
from the pics it looks like the reed case is only just rubbing the tank,

As above ^^^^ or put engine in first then try push tank so as you can enter bolts/pins to secure

just take the grommets out of the plastic tank mounts and do it that way mate,
then pack one side of the grommet so the tank moves over a bit,
I wouldn't drill or alter the carbon chassis if it can be helped ,
a fresh tank is cheaper than the chassis if it goes wrong

Got the team chase cage coming soon, but cant find out how to mount this conversion kit. I've got 85417 body mount set and 85419 side set, its got a set of uber chassis braces and the RPM bumper post on at the moment, and a 5b shock brace which will need to be changed. If anyone knows how to mount this let me know thanks

Look here mate, you will have to cut out your uber front bumper, to accommodate lugs on fr body mount

Also you will need to either drill holes in your front shock mount or buy a 5T/ SC one.

Cheers was looking for that manual, 5t manual don't have any of that. So are you still using the standard hpi skid plate or have you gone through the light pod holes on the uber bumper?

Don't have an UBER bumper on it so I couldn't tell you I'm afraid.

I have a 5T/ SC front skid with a Kraken bumper.

the front body mount fastens through holes in stock front bumper rail, the holes in the fr uber bumper need to be enlarged to accommodate said mount, as in pic above
